Dublin area to get new water treatment plant
A major expansion of the drinking water treatment plant for the Dublin region has been approved by the Minister for Housing.
The plant, located at Ballymore Eustace in Kildare, serves large areas of the four Dublin local authorities as well as parts of Kildare.
€48m is to be invested in the plant that will result in an increase of 27% in the drinking water capacity.
Minister Noel Ahern has said that he'll be urging Dublin City Council to draw up contract documents to start work on the plant as soon as possible.
