Boy dragged from bed and beaten

A 15-year-old boy was dragged from his bed and savagely beaten by a gang in the North, police revealed today.

Four masked men called at the teenager’s home in Portavogie, Co Down, and barged past his mother before heading for the victim’s bedroom.

He was hauled outside the house on Cloughey Road late last night, kicked and attacked with a stick.

The boy suffered a suspected broken arm and injuries to his knees.

Detectives investigating the assault say they are still trying to establish a motive and have urged any witnesses to contact them.
