North doctors want workplace smoking ban

Doctors in the North are demanding the implementation of a workplace smoking ban similar to the one operating in the Republic.

Smoking has been banned in all government buildings in the North, but the local branch of the British Medical Association wants the measure extended to all workplaces.

The British government has already established a consultation process on how to address the dangers of second-hand smoke in the North and a workplace ban is one of the proposals under consideration.
