Youth in court after assault on garda

A teenager has appeared before a special sitting of Limerick district court charged in connection with an incident last night which left a garda unconscious and in hospital.

It has been alleged that the garda was struck on the back of the head with a glass bottle shortly after midnight on Nicholas Street near St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick city.
