Woman sexually assaulted on walk home

A woman was subjected to a vicious sexual assault by two men as she made her way home on New Year’s Eve.

The woman was walking in the Nendrum Way/Windsor Avenue area of the Scrabo housing estate in Newtownards, Co Down at around 11.45pm when she was attacked.

Both men are believed to be in their early 20s and around 5ft 9ins tall. One of the attackers was wearing a denim jacket and a dark baseball cap.

Detectives at the Child Abuse and Rape Enquiry (CARE) Unit in Newtownards have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
