More than 5,500 people are estimated to be homeless in Ireland over the festive season, it emerged today.

More than 5,500 people are estimated to be homeless in Ireland over the festive season, it emerged today.

Most will be accommodated in hostels, hotels or bed and breakfasts but between 100 and 300 people are sleeping rough.
