Two men in their 20s are recovering in hospital this morning after they were injured in a drive-by shooting in west Dublin yesterday evening.

The pair, aged 21 and 27, were walking along the Clonsilla Road in Blanchardstown at around 6.15pm when a number of shots were fired at them from a passing car.

They were taken to the nearby James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where their injuries are believed to be serious, but not life-threatening.

The scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination and gardaí have warned motorists that the Clonsilla Road junction with Blanchardstown village will be closed until this examination is completed later today.
