Fine Gael calls for CAB assets to be used against drugs
Fine Gael is demanding that the Government use the assets seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau in the fight against drugs.
The party's spokesperson Damien English says the money should be used to provide young people with an alternative to the drink and drugs culture.
“There has been an increase in the amount of money allocated to tackle drugs in the Budget but we don’t know where it’s going,” he said.
"We’re not told where it’s being allocated to, and I’m very nervous that even when these plans do come forward, which will be years too late, that they will still not be funded.”
