Different speed limits to be allowed on individual motorway lanes

Local authorities will reportedly be able to apply different speed limits on individual lanes of the same motorway under new legislation due to come into force next month.

Reports this morning said the introduction of the new rules would coincide with the switch from miles to kilometres on Irish roads on January 20.
