Irish Ferries talks to get underway at LRC next Tuesday

Talks between unions and management at Irish Ferries are reportedly due to get under way at the Labour Relations Commission next Tuesday.

Talks between unions and management at Irish Ferries are reportedly due to get under way at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) next Tuesday.

The company’s services returned to normal yesterday after SIPTU called off a 10-day-old strike following new proposals from the National Implementation Body (NIB).

The NIB recommended that the sides consider all viable options for the future of Irish Ferries' Rosslare-Cherbourg route.

SIPTU members at the company had been on strike in protest at management’s plans to outsource jobs on the route in an effort to cut costs.
