Copy of 1916 Proclamation sells for €243,000

An original copy of the 1916 Proclamation of Independence sold for more than €243,000 at an auction in London last night.

The document was one of only two copies known to have been signed by the printer, Christopher Brady.

Only 20 original copies of the proclamation are known to exist, one of which sold for €390,000 at an auction in Dublin last week.
