Bertie Ahern and Tony Blair were today urged to secure a clear commitment from the IRA it will end all paramilitary activity in talks to revive power-sharing in Northern Ireland.

The leader of the cross-community Alliance Party, David Ford, was concerned that in a plan released by the British and Irish leaders on Wednesday there appeared to be no clear signal from the Provisionals that all paramilitary activity would stop.
