Man killed in Co Cork road accident

A man in his 50s has been killed in a road accident in Co Cork this morning.

The man was walking along a road at Nadrid in Coachford at around 1.30am when he was hit by a car and killed.

The driver of the car was arrested in connection with the incident and later released.

Gardaí at Macroom are investigating the crash.
