Teen charged with murdering sister

A 19-year-old man was tonight charged with the murder of his teenage sister, Marguerite O’Dwyer, at their family home in Co Clare.

Patrick O’Dwyer was remanded in custody to St Patrick’s Institution at a special sitting of Ennis District Court. He will appear again before the court next Friday.

Maguerite’s body was found in the family home on the outskirts of Ennistymon with wounds to the head yesterday.

The scene was sealed off for technical examination and a post-mortem examination was being carried out by the State pathologist.

It is understood the parents of the pair were on holiday abroad.
