Cowen urged to support childcare

The National Children's Nurseries Association has called on Finance Minister Brian Cowen to include additional support for childcare in his Budget later today.

Speaking ahead of the minister's Budget speech this afternoon, the association said it hoped for a generous Budget.

It said it wanted measures to support both parents and childcare providers and said such measures were long overdue.
