The Labour Party has claimed that conditions in some Irish schools are so bad that teachers and staff are resorting to calling in the Health and Safety Authority.

Party spokeswoman Jan O'Sullivan said the HSA had visited 424 schools since 1997 and had made 31 visits so far this year.
