More than two-thirds of Irish adults say that their pharmacist, not their GP, is the first port of call for non-serious medical ailments such as coughs, colds and flu.

The findings, from a poll conducted in early November from research group Drury Research, highlighted that women (70%) more than men (65%) make the pharmacy their first port of call rather than taking minor medical matters to their GP.
