Protest planned against M3 route through Hill of Tara
A demonstration in Dublin this afternoon will protest against the proposed routing of the M3 motorway through the area near the historic national monument of the Hill of Tara.
The Government is considering the possible excavation of more than 40 individual monuments in and around the site at a cost of some €30m.
The 'Save Tara' group is at odds with the planning process but hopes that the Government will find an alternative route.
The demonstration gets underway at 1.30pm from the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square and will march up O’Connell Street to the Dublin Civic Offices at Wood Quay.
