The three UN workers held hostage for almost four weeks in Afghanistan are preparing to fly home this morning.

Annetta Flanigan from Co Armagh and her two colleagues were found early yesterday after apparently being abandoned by their captors in the capital, Kabul.

The United Nations and aid groups have welcomed the release of the three UN workers but they say the case highlights that much of the country is still too dangerous for foreigners.
