Elderly woman dies in Laois car accident

A 79-year old woman was killed in a two-car collision at Tankardstown in Co Laois last night.

The woman, named as Maisie Conneran from Athy in Co Kildare, was the only occupant of the car which collided with another vehicle driven by a 30-year old man travelling alone.
