Ireland's first known serial killers apply for prison release
Ireland's first known serial killers have applied to be released from prison, 28 years after being jailed for life.
Englishmen John Shaw and Geoffrey Evans were jailed in 1978 after they abducted, raped and murdered two Irish women.
A final decision could be made by the Parole Board as early as Christmas.
However, the final decision will rest with the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell.
