Mobile phone ownership has rocketed in Northern Ireland in the last four years from a quarter of the population to almost three quarters, it was revealed today.

Mobile phone ownership has rocketed in Northern Ireland in the last four years from a quarter of the population to almost three quarters, it was revealed today.

The dramatic rise from 26% in 1999/2000 to 72% in 2003/04 was recorded in the latest household survey by the British government’s Statistics & Research Agency.
