Oireachtas secretaries demand right to apply for new jobs

Almost 100 Dáil and Seanad secretaries are planning to go on strike over plans to recruit nearly 200 personal assistants early next year.

The secretaries are demanding the opportunity to apply for the new jobs, worth nearly €45,000 per year.
