The Junior Environment Minister has called for a fully thought-out programme on tackling illegal waste activities.

Batt O'Keeffe said he would like to see particular focus on tackling illegal waste exports, particularly to the North.

Minister O'Keeffe said the 34 local authorities, the EPA and Office of Environmental Enforcement and the Northern Ireland authorities must work together to combat the problem.
