Suicide conference ends in Dublin

A three-day international conference on suicide prevention concluded in Dublin today.

The event brought together interest groups and researchers from around the world to share strategies on suicide prevention.

Speakers called for Irish GPs to be better-educated in recognising and treating people with suicidal tendencies.

The conference also hosted open sessions for people who have been bereaved by suicide.

Ciara O'Connor of support group Console said it is important to lift the stigma of suicide by talking about it.
