Police consider rail death link to woman's murder
Police are investigating a possible link between a woman’s murder and the death of a man on a Co Antrim railway line, it was confirmed today.
Murder squad detectives said they had been trying to locate the husband of the deceased, Cathy Armstrong, whose body was discovered yesterday at Recreation Road in Larne, Co Antrim.
Officers confirmed they were actively investigating a link between her death and the body of a man found this morning on the railway between Larne and Glynn village.
PSNI Officers said the man was hit by a train at around 7.25am.
Police were searching for John Armstrong since yesterday morning and late last night the family car, a blue Vauxhall Corsa, was located close to the boatslip at Carnsunnock.
The body of Mrs Armstrong, 37, was found yesterday with chest wounds, possibly caused by a stabbing.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the blue Vauxhall Corsa, licence plate UCZ 1626, yesterday to contact them.
