WIT Science week attracts 7,500 schoolchildren

More than 7,500 primary and secondary pupils have attended events at Science week at Waterford IT.

The Science week events were co-ordinated through CALMAST, The Centre for the Advancement of Learning of Maths, Science and Technology, and involved staff from the Schools of Science, Engineering and Adult Education.

"It is vital to encourage our young people to have an interest in science, and the earlier they start the better," said Dr Sheila Donegan, manager of CALMAST.

By the end of the week, it is expected that over 8,000 will have attended Science Week at Waterford IT.
