The Government is to lift the cap on the participation of people over the age of 55 in Community Employment schemes.

The Government is to lift the cap on the participation of people over the age of 55 in Community Employment schemes.

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs Seamus Brennan has said there will be no compulsory lay-offs from the Job Initiaitive Scheme.

He has also said that the level of at least 25,000 places on CE, JI and Social Economy programmes will be continued until the end of next year.
