Another deadline passes for Armagh hostage

The latest deadline set by the kidnappers of Annetta Flanigan from Co Armagh, and two other UN workers in Afghanistan, has expired.

The group holding the trio is demanding the release of 26 Taliban prisoners.

The three UN workers were abducted in Kabul late last month.

The Afghan government is expressing hope for the hostages’ release, but is unwilling to meet their kidnappers demands.
