The Government has today decided on new judicial appointees to the Supreme, High, Circuit and District Courts.
The Government will now take the necessary steps to formally advise President McAleese, in accordance with Constitutional procedures.
The vacancy in the Supreme Court was created by the appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice John Murray as Chief Justice.
The 2004 Civil Liability and Courts Act created three vacancies each in the High Court and Circuit Court, and two in the District Court.
The additional vacancies in the High and Circuit Courts will be caused by the appointments of The Hon. Mr. Justice Kearns to the Supreme Court, and Her Hon. Judge Elizabeth Dunne to the High Court.
