Around 50 bus drivers brought bus services in Galway to a halt today with an unofficial stoppage over staffing arrangements.

The drivers, who are members of the National Bus and Rail Services Union, were angered over management procedures for filling vacancies at the depot. The strike action was called after workers met late last night.
