SVP urges Govt to honour commitments on social welfare

The Society of St Vincent de Paul has called on the Government to use next month's Budget to honour previous commitments made in relation to social welfare.

The organisation said increases in social welfare rates, child benefit and other measures were needed to tackle the continuing problems of poverty and social exclusion.
