Plane resumes trip after emergency landing at Shannon
A trans-Atlantic cargo jet forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon airport this morning has been given the all-clear to continue its journey.
The aircraft, which was travelling from Memphis, in Tennessee, to Nottingham East Midlands Airport, made an emergency landing in the early hours of this morning after the captain reported an engine problem.
On landing, the engine was shut down as a precaution but following various checks, the aircraft was given the all clear at 10am.
