Dick Roche vows to catch seal slaughterers

Minister for the Environment Dick Roche has vowed to hunt down those responsible for the slaughter of scores of baby seals on the Blasket Islands.

Despite EU conservation laws protecting them, around 60 of the mammals, just weeks-old, were found shot and bludgeoned to death.

An official from the Department of the Environment's been sent to the southwest to liaise with the gardaí investigating the case.
