The Minister for Health Mary Harney has told the Irish Nurses Organisation she wants to see minor injury clinics scattered across the country to take pressure off Accident and Emergency departments.

The Minister for Health Mary Harney has told the Irish Nurses Organisation she wants to see minor injury clinics scattered across the country to take pressure off Accident and Emergency departments.

She said 22% of people attending A&E departments do not require admission and could be treated at these clinics, which would be run by highly-trained nurses.
