School attendance body seeks €6m in extra funding

The agency responsible for monitoring school attendance is seeking more than €6m in extra funding in next month's Budget.

The National Educational Welfare Board said the increase would allow it to hire 95 new staff members, most of whom would work on the ground with schools, parents and children around the country.
