Govt urged to clarify SSIA effect on welfare entitlements

The Labour Party has called on the Government to clarify whether SSIA account holders risk losing their medical cards when their accounts mature in the coming years.

Party spokesperson Kathleen Lynch said it appeared that the Government was planning to take the money in these savings schemes into account when assessing people's entitlements to medical cards.
