The Taoiseach has told the Dáil that the prospects of a breakthrough in the Northern peace process have slowed.

Bertie Ahern said that if progress is not made within the next 20 days, the talks are likely to drift on.

Responding to questions by Labour leader Pat Rabbitte, Bertie Ahern said matters had slowed since the Leeds Castle talks.
