Committee to probe LUAS accident rate

Officials from the Rail Procurement Agency are due before the Oireachtas transport committee later this week to explain the number of accidents involving LUAS trams in Dublin.

Last week alone, trams on the Red Line between Tallaght and Connolly Station were involved in four crashes which left several people needing hospital treatment.

Those incidents were the latest in a series of collisions involving the LUAS since its launch earlier this year.
