Tests were today being carried out at a Dublin hospital on a man suspected of having the first case of vCJD to originate from within the Republic.

Tests were today being carried out at a Dublin hospital on a man suspected of having the first case of vCJD to originate from within the Republic.

The patient, understood to be a man in his early 20s, is in a very serious condition with what medical staff believe is the human form of BSE.
