Foul play 'not likely' in couple's deaths

Gardaí in Leitrim have said they are keeping an 'open mind' on the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in the front seat of a car at Glenfarne, around seven miles east of Manorhamilton.

Gardaí in Leitrim have said they are keeping an 'open mind' on the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in the front seat of a car at Glenfarne, around seven miles east of Manorhamilton.

At around lunchtime, a local farmer discovered the bodies in a car, which had been parked at a scenic location at Glenfarne Woods for several days.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

The bodies have been taken to Sligo General Hospital where the State Pathologist, Doctor Marie Cassidy, will carry out post mortem examinations.

Gardaí have said at this stage, foul play is not thought to be the likely cause of their deaths.
