Probe starts into illegal fishing claim

A major investigation was under way tonight into allegations that members of the Irish fishing fleet have been involved in illegal commercial fishing.

Marine minister Noel Dempsey briefed the Cabinet about the issue today and told them he had passed a file containing the allegations to the Garda commissioner.
