Steering group on child protection renew talks
Members of the Catholic Church's steering group on child protection policy have held talks today with consultant Maureen Lynott.
Ms Lynott was the chairwoman of the working group set up to develop policy for the church and its institutions.
The group disbanded last month after disagreement over whether or not outside professionals should have the final say on how complaints are handled.
Today's meeting has been described as constructive and a further meeting is planned next month.
In the meantime, the church authorities are considering options on the way forward.
