Wicklow Council meets to discuss controversial rezoning decisions

Members of Wicklow County Council are to meet today to discuss controversial rezoning decisions made this summer.

The 17 rezoning proposals were approved at a planning meeting on July 12 this year, against the advice of planning officials.

Two weeks ago, County Manager Eddie Sheehy issued a 400-page report recommending that most of the rezoning proposals be removed, as he claims they represent a threat to the environment.
