A stricken Canadian submarine is making slow progress from the Irish coast towards a naval base in Scotland.

It's being towed from the Atlantic under British Royal Navy escort after a fire left it stranded about 100 miles off Donegal.

One crewman was killed in the incident - another is seriously ill in hospital.

It could take the vessel until tomorrow to reach its destination.
