Govt urged to reverse social welfare cutbacks
An organisation that supports single-parent families has called on the Government to take specific measures to help such families in this year's Budget.
One Family, which used to be known as Cherish, said the Government should use the Budget to honour its commitments to families at risk of poverty, particularly in relation to child benefit and income supports.
It also called on the Government to reverse the so-called "savage 16" social welfare cutbacks introduced last year and to review the impact of government policies on single-parent families.
