NBRU secretary gives cautious welcome to new Transport Minister

The General Secretary of the National Bus and Rail Union Liam Tobin has given a cautious welcome to the appointment of Martin Cullen as Minister for Transport.

He said he did not want to dwell on the past, except to say it provided a sombre demonstration of how not to implement change in the public sector.

He said he hopes Mr Cullen will adopt a more constructive approach, and believes an early indication will be how talks progress when they resume at Dublin Bus.
