Students protest at accommodation problems

Students have begun a protest at the Spire on Dublin's O'Connell Street to highlight high prices poor standards of housing available to students.

Layne Aston of the USI said while there is no longer a shortage of accommodation, other problems persist.

“Students are competing with young professionals in the market so what happens because students can't pay the high rents is they end up in really low standards of accommodation.”
