Ahern signals drink excise duty won't change

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has indicated he believes falling sales in the pub trade are self-inflicted by the drinks industry.

His comments come as publicans were reported to be prepared to reduce the price of a pint in an effort to boost business following a drop in sales in recent months.
