Plans for cross border dual carriageway unveiled

A cross border road building partnership has been formed to construct a dual carriageway linking Dundalk and Newry.

A cross border road building partnership has been formed to construct a dual carriageway linking Dundalk and Newry.

The National Roads Authority, Louth County Council and the Northern Ireland Roads Service are joining together to advance the scheme which spans two jurisdictions.

The road will extend to 14 kilometres, and will cost €115m.

Work is due to start early next year and take approximately two years.
